So the next logical question is,
What exactly do you mean by ‘digital marketing’?
Web 2.0 refers to the evolution of internet technology to a more interactive and collaborative nature. This encompasses social media platforms and virtual communities with user-generated content; branching out into blogs, search engines, review sites, mobile platforms, email marketing etc.
Digital marketing is about connecting with consumers on these various platforms.
The internet has given people a voice; it has put the power back into consumers’ hands.
No longer can companies bury customer service issues or control the narrative.
These days, a large part of the narrative of brands is in the hands of consumers.
Web 2.0 has revolutionised the way that consumers and brands interact. These are both exciting and challenging times.
